Online Therapy Across the U.S. Virgin Islands

Living in the U.S. Virgin Islands shouldn't limit your access to exceptional mental health care

Living in the U.S. Virgin Islands comes with so many things to love. It also comes with unique challenges, especially when you're looking for specialized mental health care. Whether you live on St. Thomas, St. John, or St. Croix, finding the right therapist isn't always as simple as making an appointment down the street. Sometimes there are long waitlists. Sometimes there are very few providers with advanced trauma training. Sometimes privacy feels complicated because your community is small, and sometimes the therapist who feels like the right fit simply isn't located on your island.

That's one of the reasons I pursued licensure in the Virgin Islands.

Today, I'm honored to provide secure online therapy to adults throughout St. Thomas, St. John, St. Croix, and the greater U.S. Virgin Islands. My practice focuses on helping adults navigate trauma, anxiety, addiction, relationship struggles, military and first responder experiences, grief, and major life transitions using thoughtful, evidence-based care tailored to each individual.

Therapy That Comes To You

One of the greatest advantages of online therapy is that geography no longer has to determine the quality of care you receive.

Whether you're on St. Thomas, commuting between St. John and St. Thomas by ferry, living on St. Croix, or anywhere else in the U.S. Virgin Islands, therapy can happen from the comfort and privacy of your own space. There's no driving across the island after work, coordinating ferry schedules, or settling for the nearest available therapist simply because they're nearby.

Instead, you have the freedom to choose the therapist who's actually the right fit.

Research consistently shows that online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy for many of the concerns I treat. After years of working virtually, I've found that meaningful therapy has very little to do with sharing an office and everything to do with building trust, creating safety, and developing a relationship where you can finally be honest.

Who I Work Best With

I intentionally keep my practice small, not because I don't love this work, but because I do. I want to know my clients well, remember the details that matter, notice the subtle shifts that tell me something important is changing, and show up to each session fully present. That becomes difficult when a therapist's calendar is packed from morning until night, so I'm thoughtful about the clients I take on and the kind of work we agree to do together.

The people who tend to thrive in my practice aren't necessarily the ones who have life figured out. In fact, many arrive exhausted. They're tired of repeating the same patterns, having the same arguments, numbing the same pain, or waking up each morning with the quiet realization that something has to change.

They're sick and tired of being sick and tired.

What they share isn't a diagnosis. It's a willingness to roll up their sleeves, get honest, become curious instead of defensive, and take responsibility for the parts of their healing that belong to them. They aren't looking for someone to rescue them, and I won't insult them by pretending I can. They're looking for someone who will invest deeply, walk beside them, challenge them when needed, and help them create changes that reach far beyond the fifty minutes we spend together.

I have an enormous amount of compassion for why you've become who you've become. None of us arrives here by accident. I also have an enormous amount of hope for who you're still capable of becoming.

Those two beliefs sit at the center of everything I do: your story makes sense, and it does not have to dictate the rest of your life.

If you're looking for someone to nod along each week while nothing outside the therapy room changes, I’m not your gal. But if you're ready for a therapist who will tell you the truth with kindness, help you understand both your story and your nervous system, celebrate your growth, and refuse to let shame have the final word, I think we can do deeply meaningful work together.

Why Wildlight Counseling?

One of the reasons I pursued licensure in the U.S. Virgin Islands was because I've completely fallen in love with the islands over the years. They're one of my favorite places in the world. But my appreciation for them also made me realize something else: people living on St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix deserve access to the same high-quality, specialized trauma care that's available in much larger cities. You shouldn't have to leave the islands to find a therapist with advanced training in trauma treatment.

My work is grounded in science, but it's never one-size-fits-all. Every nervous system is different. Every story is different. It only makes sense that your therapy should be different, too.

Some people need a place to finally tell the story they've been carrying alone for years. Others have talked about their experiences countless times but still feel like their body is trapped in the past. That's why I integrate traditional talk therapy with evidence-based approaches like EMDR and Brainspotting when they're clinically appropriate. My goal has never been to fit you into my favorite modality. My goal is to understand you well enough to know which approach gives you the greatest opportunity to heal.

I also intentionally keep my practice small because I believe meaningful therapy deserves time, presence, and genuine investment. I want to know my clients well. I want to remember the details that matter, notice the subtle shifts that signal real change, and show up to every session fully present.

Because healing rarely happens when someone is simply checking the box that therapy happened this week. It happens when you feel deeply seen, appropriately challenged, and genuinely invested in by someone who believes your life can look different than it does today.
