It's about remembering they were never the whole story

Sunlight breaking through a moody sky behind a tree with birds in flight
  • You've spent years carrying things no one else could see.

  • You've become so good at holding everyone else together that no one realizes you're falling apart.

  • You learned to stay alert because your nervous system forgot what safety feels like.

  • You keep reaching for something-achievement, alcohol, perfectionism, work, control-hoping this time it will quiet what's underneath.

  • You've seen things most people never will...and you're tired of pretending they don't affect you.

  • Military life, first responder work, addiction, trauma, divorce, grief...life has changed you in ways that are hard to explain.

  • Somewhere along the way, you stopped recognizing yourself.

  • You keep waiting until you're "better" before allowing yourself to fully live.

You've survived.

But you don't want survival to be the thing that defines the rest of your life.

Trauma Therapy with EMDR & Brainspotting in San Diego, California

Healing isn't just about talking

Sometimes understanding your story changes everything.

Sometimes it doesn't.

You can know exactly why you react the way you do and still feel trapped in the same patterns.

Because trauma isn't stored only in our thoughts.

It's carried in our bodies, too.

That's why I integrate Brainspotting, EMDR, and other trauma-informed approaches. Not because talking isn't valuable, but because healing sometimes begins where words end.

Sometimes the deepest healing happens

where words can no longer

reach.

The Person Walking Beside You

Meet Chelsea | Trauma Therapist in San Diego

Providing trauma-focused therapy, EMDR, and Brainspotting in San Diego and virtually throughout California, Colorado, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

I didn't become a therapist because I had life figured out. I became one because I've seen what pain can do to a person. I've seen how trauma convinces good people they're broken, how shame teaches us to hide, and how fear quietly becomes the architect of an entire life. I've also had the privilege of watching those stories begin to loosen their grip, and that transformation never gets old.

If we work together, I'll care about you deeply. I'll celebrate your victories, sit beside you in the heartbreak, and help carry what feels too heavy to hold alone.

But I won't mistake comfort for healing, because sometimes, the most compassionate thing I can do is interrupt the story fear has been telling you for years.

I'll ask the questions no one else has asked. I'll notice the patterns you've stopped seeing. I'll remind you of the strength that's been there all along, even on the days you can't quite believe it's still there yourself.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I'm trained in EMDR, Brainspotting, and trauma-informed therapy, and I'm licensed to work with clients in Colorado, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Those approaches matter because they help us work with more than just your thoughts. They help us work with your nervous system, your body, and the places where trauma often continues to live long after the danger has passed.

But techniques alone don't change people.

The relationship does.

Healing rarely happens when someone is analyzing you from across the room. It happens when you feel safe enough to be fully seen, challenged with compassion, and reminded of who you were long before fear convinced you otherwise.

If you're ready for that kind of work, I'd be honored to walk beside you.

Taking the First Step

walking/balancing Woman taking a step forward representing the beginning of the therapy process

Beginning therapy can feel overwhelming. It doesn't have to be. Here's what you can expect.

  1. Reach out.

Book your free 15-minute consultation or send me a message. We'll talk about what's bringing you here, what you're hoping for, and whether we're the right fit for each other.

  2. Let's create a plan.

If we decide to work together, we'll begin building a roadmap that's tailored to you-not just your symptoms, but your story, your strengths, and the life you're working toward.

  3. Begin healing.

Healing isn't about becoming someone new.

It's about remembering who you were before fear, trauma, addiction, or shame convinced you otherwise.

We'll take it one session, one conversation, one courageous step at a time.
